Lyn Jones, PhD

Principal Investigator, Department of Pediatric Oncology, Chemical Biology Program, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Professor of the Practice, Department of Pediatrics, Harvard Medical School

Lyn Jones received his PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from the University of Nottingham and completed postdoctoral training in chemical biology at The Scripps Research Institute. He held scientific leadership roles at Pfizer in the UK and USA—including Head of Chemical Biology, Lead Discovery Technologies, and Head of Chemistry for Rare Disease Research—before helping to establish Jnana Therapeutics as Head of Chemistry and Chemical Biology.

He later joined the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as Chief Scientist of the Center for Protein Degradation and is now a Principal Investigator in the Department of Pediatric Oncology and the Chemical Biology Program at DFCI, as well as Professor of the Practice in the Department of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. His laboratory develops next-generation covalent chemical biology to expand the druggable proteome.

Professor Jones is an awardee of the Royal Society of Chemistry and an elected Fellow of AAAS, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Royal Society of Biology, the Linnean Society, and the Learned Society of Wales.
